A Pearl Jewelry Afternoon That Turned a Home Into the First Chapter of YIGLEAM

On the afternoon of November 22, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, our living room quietly took on a new role. For those few hours, it became YIGLEAM’s very first pearl jewelry showroom.

It was a Pearl Jewelry Party hosted by Sonia, the founder of YIGLEAM and a Grade 11 student. For someone visiting the website for the first time, YIGLEAM might appear to be a young or unfamiliar brand. But for everyone who walked through our door that afternoon, it was immediately clear that YIGLEAM is real — built by real hands, real care, and a young founder who takes her work seriously.

A Small Gathering with a Remarkable Community

The guests that day came from many parts of Sonia’s life.

They included her school principal and board members, neighbors from the Westmount community, friends who traveled from afar, business owners and managers, as well as Sonia’s classmates and their parents, many of whom volunteered to help with the event.

The living room was transformed with display tables lined with pearl necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and brooches. Guests took their time trying on pieces, examining the luster of the pearls, asking questions, and sharing thoughts with one another. It felt less like a sales event and more like a warm, open conversation centered around craftsmanship and design.


For Sonia, this was not about “showing off” a brand. It was the first time she was able to present YIGLEAM — something she has been building carefully over time — to people she respects and trusts.

The Work Behind the Pieces

In the days leading up to the event, Sonia approached the preparation with the same care she gives to her studies and other commitments.

Each piece was checked and cleaned again. Clasps, strings, and metal components were carefully examined. Small information cards were prepared for every item, noting the pearl type, size, and intended wear. Pricing was reviewed thoughtfully, with the hope that the pieces would feel both accessible and worthy of their quality.

Importantly, she was treated not as “just a student,” but as a young founder with a meaningful idea and the discipline to grow it.

What Nearly 30 Orders Truly Represented

By the end of the event, nearly 30 orders had been placed.

While modest in scale, each order carried weight. Some guests selected holiday gifts for loved ones, others chose pieces for colleagues or friends, and some decided to return to the website later to continue exploring.


Every purchase followed careful consideration — trying pieces on, asking about materials, understanding craftsmanship. This is the same experience we aim to offer online: not impulse buying, but informed, confident choices.

Based on the suggestions shared, we will continue refining our website experience, adding more real-life photos, clearer information, and thoughtful aftercare guidance.
